It’s time to drop the feature! Dec. 6 On Monday, Google announced some fun new features for the Pixel line devices. Although not all features are available in all pixels, as long as you have Pixel 3 or newer, everyone will have something new. The update on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro is yet to come. Google says those users will see the update next week.
Quick Tap to Snap
This attractive name refers to a feature for any interested Snapchat user in Pixel. With this latest update, you can start Snapshot directly from the lock screen by setting Snapshot as a quick tap action. This feature is 5G and newer for the Pixel 4a.
Digital car key
The day will soon come when you can truly leave your home with nothing but your smartphone. Google brings Pixel users one step closer to that reality with the release of its early digital car key. This exclusive feature for selecting 2020–2022 BMW models (in compatible countries) allows you to lock and unlock your car door by tapping the handle of your phone, and start the car by treating the pixel as a key fob.
This feature is exclusive to the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.
Ultra-wideband is finally here
The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are equipped with ultra-whiteband capabilities, but Google disabled the feature when it was launched. With this latest update, UWB has finally arrived; The big sale is the nearby partition, which allows you to send photos, videos, files and other types of data to other UWB-enabled devices.
Updates to Now Playing
Playing now is a great feature; If you want to know the name of the song that sounds in your place, look at the lock screen of your pixel. If your phone can recognize it, you will see the title of the song at the bottom of the display. If the song in your area is not automatically recognized by your Pixel, you can move things by tapping the New Search button (Pixel 4 and newer). If you want to save the song as a favorite to listen to later, tap the music note next to the title.
Customize activating Google Assistant from the power button
You can now choose how long or short you need to hold your Pixel’s power button before you trigger the Assistant.
Conversation mode (beta)
This feature, still in beta, allows you to focus on conversation and reduce background noise when using earbuds or headphones. All processes that go into this feature will take place on the device, so Google will not see any data generated by your conversations.
New wallpapers
Google has added three new wallpapers for International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The new pieces are from artist Dana Curley, and they can be found in the Curated Culture section.
Car crash detection expansion
Existing car crash detection in Spain, Ireland, Japan, UK, Australia, Singapore and USA is an amazing feature, now coming to Pixel 3 and newer in Taiwan, Italy and France.
Recorder app expansion
Similarly, the Recorder application has now expanded its library of languages. Transcriptions are available in Japanese, French and German, as well as in Pixel 3 and newer.
Bonus: Pixel Buds A-Series gets a base boost
This is not a pixel feature, but Google has highlighted it, and so will we. On any Android 6.0 or later mobile, you can increase the pass from -1 to +4 using the Pixel Butts app. According to Google, this is more than twice the original base limit of Butts.
